After a successful first edition in 2021, Portuguese food and beverage companies will gather again to present their quality food export offering at the Digital Agrifood Summit Portugal from 23-25 February 2022 .
The fully digital tradeshow aims to provide Portuguese producers and exporters with the opportunity to meet and connect with international buyers.
Organised by the Portuguese Agrofood Cluster (PortugalFoods, Inovcluster, Agrocluster and Portugal Fresh) in partnership with ViniPortugal, the initiative is a showcase of the best of Portuguese agri-food sector.
“The current context is still putting restrictions on mobility, but we don’t want that to slow our companies down,” said Amândio Santos, President of PortugalFoods and head of the Portuguese Agrofood Cluster.
“With this event we want to take advantage of the opportunities offered by digital environments and continue building trusted relationships with international buyers from all around the world.”
Portuguese fruit, vegetables, fish, canned goods, meats, oils, confectionery and other quality products now reach 185 international markets.
With an export value of €6.34bn in 2021 (to November) and excellent forecasts for 2022, the Portuguese agri-food sector is committed to maintaining the strong growth rate it has experienced over the last decade, representing 12 per cent of all Portuguese exports in 2020.
The digital event is planned as a global gathering that will include a virtual showroom of quality products on a platform on which Portuguese exhibitors can hold business meetings with buyers from more than twenty countries around the world.
At the same time there will be themed workshops and an area dedicated to current trends.
