This morning , the large international fruit and vegetable fair Fruit Logistica started in Berlin. Besides fruit and vegetable companies from all over the world, about 150 horticultural technology companies are present with a booth, and even more visiting companies. The day started quite slow and suppliers hoped for a better afternoon.
Most horticultural suppliers can be found in hall 8.1, which is smaller than usual , like many other halls. Yet there’s a lot to debate : the energy crisis, of course, and the situation in Ukraine, the high costs of fertilizers and greenhouse supplies, but also much more positive stories : new projects being done all over the world, with a focus on the US, the lettuce industry going through the roof, and new products developed for even better food safety.
